The "rock" album. Rough-as-guts (mostly) live demos straight to a 4-track - vox, guitars, drums - not even bass! There are very few overdubs - only the occasional 2nd guitar or backing vocal. These were probably the most rockin-est songs we'd done since album #1 "Constella-Sheep", and generally the most "up" sounding songs of mine for quite a while (probably ever!)

The lyrics were mainly pure stream-of-consciousness, and then i would take these recordings and try to decipher what was being sung in order to create "proper" lyrics. Most of the tracks at this point were instrumental, and remained instrumental when we played them live (with thanks due to Joseph Leonard on bass guitar duties), with the intention for lyrics to be written at some date. They never were.

This is a rough document of the last recordings A Gold Star Secret ever did. "The Whole Thing Is Poisoned!" would have been album #4 had we ever recorded it properly.
