This is a collection of some of the home-recorded songs I did from 2017-2018, when I started writing again after a 13 year hiatus. They were all quickly (and badly) recorded using a digital 4-track and then messed with in GarageBand, and then published to SoundCloud & promoted on FaceBook.

5 other songs from this period were re-recorded (betterer!) with Richard "Bon" King in 2017 and with further recording/mixing with Emma Hoy in 2018. These have yet to be released.

The songs appearing here were also intended to be re-recorded for a 12 song album called "Historical Fiction" - 6 quiet songs to be recorded with Andrew Stapleton & 6 louder songs with Bon again. Work began with Andrew around 2019, but due to unforseen circumstances stopped and never resumed.

In the time since then I've written and began recording a whole swathe of new material, which made re-recording these seem a bit of a waste of time. So here are the original demos, in the running order I wanted for the re-recordings, with updated cover artwork that was originally used for the SoundCloud uploads. These songs have now been "mastered" for extra loudness too.

PS: The photo was taken by David Challinor on Sal Paradise's one and only tour - to Adelaide in 1996.
